I actually couldn't believe it when returning to the Ski Club of Ireland in Kiltiernan tonight that it's slopes were mostly still covered in snow. What was even more extraordinary was the fact that there was hardly anybody there. I suppose, as a neighbour put it later that evening, "the parties over Rich - everyone's gone back to work"...
Still though, I was quite surprised that only a handful of skiers and snowboarders braved the journey after work to enjoy the last few hours of real snow. The roads all the way there were quite clear too - not to mention the favourably mild temperature this evening for this time of the year - an especially pleasant contrast after the last couple of days of madness!
At least I wasn't completely alone - plus on the flip side it was great to have so much extra space to enjoy - the biggest advantage of the Club bing so quiet this evening. Unfortunately, most of the features were off limits, however, the snow covering meant that there was a small wall to be ridden as well as a small air to be had when crossing from one particular slope to another.
I already started working on a few edits from this evening and will be sharing those on Instagram and Facebook over the next few days. Here's a little taster of what to expect. Until then I hope normality is beginning to return to all of your lives and that you weren't too badly put out by the recent crazy weather!
