Paris is one of the most architecturally beautiful places in the world. My family have lived there since 2004 and so I've been very fortunate to have had lots of opportunities to live there like a local on many occasions over more than a decade. This has afforded me the opportunity to get to know the city incredibly well.
On one of these visits, back in December 2013, I discovered what I believe to be Paris's best kept secret. On the top floor of Galeries Lafayette, Boulevard Haussmann lies a roof terrace with panoramic views of all of Paris. There's a cafe bar, deck chairs to catch some sun and even an igloo restaurant. Best of all, it's free to visit!
Most viewing spots in Paris, certainly the ones with 360 views, charge an entry fee. Of course the Eiffel Tower has really great views, and so too does the Arc du Triomphe, but do the queues and high entry fees return exponentially better visual results?! I'll let you guys decide - let me know in the comments or message me here directly with your thoughts. Bientot!
